Searching for high availability solution

Kamilek is searching for a high availability dedicated server solution and starts his thread with a comprehensive spec of the servers he'd like to use. He's looking for a reliable well-known company, and for the servers (minimum of 2) to be located in different datacenters. Having HA servers spread across different locations can cause issues due to latency, as mentioned early on in the thread, but Kamilek is open to a round-robin type of solution and would use incremental copying between machines to keep transfer times down. He's also curious about possible cloud solutions. Have you created a HA cluster and can you offer some advice on how this can be best achieved?

Good VPS hosting with 24/7 support

New to WHT, Rukkolka is looking for a good VPS hosting with 24/7 support, to be used to host two small and straightforward websites. These sites are currently hosted on shared hosting but his client is dissatisfied with the limitations of the package. Each upgrade or dealing with issues incurs significant costs and the provider retains almost total control. There has also been a recent security breach and the aim is to avoid those in the future. So Rukkolka is looking for greater user autonomy compared to conventional hosting, minimal vulnerability to potential attacks and security flaws and the capacity to implement various environment changes without excessive charges (or with nominal fees), all along with reliable 24/7 customer support. He's already received some recommendations prior to starting his thread on WHT, but he's looking to our community to advise and guide him. Is a VPS the right solution or should he be considering alternatives?

The company also has a Point of Presence (PoP) in Coresite’s One Wilshire carrier hotel data center in Los Angeles, California, adjacent to Quadranet’s Los Angeles data center.
