Andy needs to choose a hosting automation for a couple thousand customers. An import is not an option and will have to done manually. He'll need integration with his local ccTLD registry and a local payment processor for which only WHMCS has integrations (sort of), and to develop integration with the local fiscal service so there's a requirement for an API or some other way to expose the data in the invoices. Cost wise, he thinks CE would be very very affordable. For WHMCS he'd pay $100 a month now and probably increase over time to $175 a month if Oakley doesn't push through another price increase. And there's the cost of any add-ons which adds up to quite a lot. HostBill would be an investment (not a small one but doable - he's considering the second "Enterprise" tier) while WHMCS might be a liability. It looks like he's done plenty of background reading, comparing the pros and cons of each product but still needs advice and recommendations on which to pick. Which, in your opinion, is the best, technically and future wise?
A new member has a software downloading website where about 4000 users come every day and download huge sofware files ranging in size from around 500Mb to 1Gb. He asks what hosting would be best to be able to host these large files without over-using the resources. His primary issue is exceeding bandwidth limits, and wonders if he needs something with large or unlimited bandwidth but has no idea what it could be. Initial reactions in the thread advise against considering any sort of regular shared hosting for such a requirement, and point to some of the bespoke file hosting services available. Other suggestions include using cloud storage, or spreading the load across multiple servers. Have you operated a service like this successfully? What approach would you advise?

So, has there been a rush to the edge? Absolutely. Is it "eating the cloud"? Well, the cloud is as strong as ever, so it is hard to make that case. But there is a strong chance the edge will transform the very Internet itself.
To explain why, read this article and more about the rise of edge computing, presented by EdgeIR
