Bharat has been working with a client for many years, and they're now expressing an interest in paying hourly for a dedicated server rather than the traditional monthly payments. They'd like to be charged according to usage, in the same way that cloud servers are, and whenever they stop the machine billing stops too (only charging for volume usage + IP). Is there any way to make this work with dedicated servers? The servers are colocated so incur a monthly fee regardless of usage or being turned on or off. How can physical servers be charged on a per hour basis, and how is it possible to know that server is stopped so billing should be stopped too? Is this something you've considered yourself and how might it be achieved? Share your thoughts in the thread.
Tremhost has started a thread putting forward the suggestion that cPanel will most likely increase prices for 2023. He goes on to mention that they're the most dominant control panel right now and, whilst there are others with a decent share of the market, cPanel has a hold on the market in his opinion. Feature wise, market penetration and usability puts cPanel is a position where they have a monopoly on the market and will do whatever they want. He's convinced that in September/October this year we will hear another announcement of a cPanel price increase. With inflation raging in the world economy right now, prices are increasing and Tremhost does not think for a moment that our industry will be spared. The thread has since developed to include other panels, several of whom now charge per account like cPanel introduced. Is this opinion shared by many? Are you expecting annual price increases becoming the new norm, and how are you planning to handle them?
