CHIA and ACHI cryptocurrency farming and the hosting industry

Back in May of this year a thread was started on WHT highlighting the arrival of CHIA miners and warning of potential financial risks to dedicated server hosts due to the peculiar hardware requirements of this type of operation. CHIA appeared to come and go quite quickly, but now a new but similar method of farming cryptocurrency known as ACHI has appeared on the scene. A new thread started by startupcto goes into detail describing how this operation works and the hardware requirements, and how he is looking for high-storage servers to fit the bill. He invites responses from industry insiders and hopes to learn why the industry is so hostile to potential clients in this segment. For a thread that was started less than 2 days ago, there are already several responses from providers detailing the risks involved (that most will not be prepared to take). Do you have experience of the previous CHIA demand in the market, and what's your reaction to this new crypto-farming's requirements?

November 2021 Server Parts Pricing Report

Gabe has produced his 10th server parts pricing report for 2021. He tracks changing parts prices for RAM, SSDs, Hard Drives, CPUs, and a couple of GPUs. Typically this is done monthly, and then shared with WHT in a monthly report. Currently, all listed prices are from eBay, for used hardware, but he may start tracking more new hardware as well if there is a demand for it. Prices as of 4th November, 2021. The "noteworthy changes" comments at the end of the report are worth a read, noting the removal and addition of certain drives from the report, and how this is the third month of tracking the Xeon Platinum 8160 CPU.
